The existing 10,800 sf funeral home was considered “preferably preserved” by the city of West Newton, not allowing for its demolition. Therefore, the design for the project maintained the existing building, creating a symmetrical addition at the rear of the lot connected to the front with a welcoming entrance and grand front porch.
